KICTANet

KICTANet is a multi-stakeholder think tank for people and institutions interested and involved in ICT policy and regulation in Kenya. The think tank is a catalyst for reform in the Information and Communication Technology sector. Its work is guided by four pillars of policy advocacy, capacity building, research, and stakeholder engagement.

PesaCheck

PesaCheck is a pioneering verification initiative that is helping kickstart fact-checking across East Africa. Initially focused on verifying the financial and other statistical numbers quoted by public figures in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, PesaCheck now also helps track political promises by politicians (through our Wajibisha toolkit) and helps unpack budget and census data (through our PesaYetu platform). PesaCheck also helps watchdog media and NGOs establish their own standalone fact-check teams.

Elections Observation Group

Election Observation Group (ELOG) is a long-term, permanent, and national platform, which is comprised of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with the mandate of strengthening democracy in Kenya and the African Region through promoting inclusive, transparent, and accountable electoral processes.

Center for International Private Enterprise

Since 1983 CIPE has been working with local partners to craft business-driven solutions to social-economic problems that affect millions of people. We at CIPE believe that democracy is at its strongest when the private sector is flourishing. Working with our local partners that include business associations, chambers of commerce, think tanks, universities and advocacy organizations, CIPE is helping create the enabling environment for business to thrive. This can only happen when the core institutions of democracy are strong and transparent.

Global Forum for Media Development

The Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), a not-for-profit, Belgian registered ASBL, is a network of journalism support and media assistance groups established in 2005 in Amman, Jordan. The GFMD’s core value is to support the creation and strengthening of journalism and free, independent, sustainable and pluralistic news ecosystems.

GFMD’s vision is summarised in a code of practice developed by and for its members as a common ethical framework to which GFMD members commit themselves. Our aims foster:
